If someone has not yet told you to check out artist Mayer Hawthorne then consider yourself served!  This fast up and coming artist may be known for his throwback 50's Motown sound, but don't  limit him to one genre as he's been getting attention by a number of notable Labels and is rumored to be working on a  Snoop Dogg compilation record with Diplo (See Below) after the release of Snoops Malice in Wonderland.   (Sneak Peak Listen Here Malice In Wonderland) More Info on Snoop Dog and Hawthorne at LA Weekly Here!

If that was not enough, This past Friday 12/4 @ Angel's supper Club in santa Monica, CA   Mayer Hawthorne himself  took over the music booth and dejayed  a set for the bar crowd.  Mixing both old classic Motown and some of his own songs, Mayer got the crowd on it's feet and set the night in motion.

Metrogum Music was lucky to be there and although we have to apologize upfront for the grainy footage (maybe too many whiskey drinks) we do have a couple minutes with Mayer Hawthorne at the turntables!
